Albert Gubern-Mérida, PhD
Chief Product and Technology Officer at ScreenPoint Medical
Albert serves as Chief Product and Technology Officer at ScreenPoint Medical, overseeing the engineering and product design functions across the organization.
An expert and published author in breast imaging, Albert received undergraduate degrees and a Master of Science in Automation, Computation and Systems from the Universitat de Girona, where he also received his PhD. He also studied for a subsequent PhD at Radboud University in the Netherlands, where he met and studied under Prof. Nico Karssemeijer.
From 2016 to 2022, he served in various roles, including Head of Research and Development and Chief Technology Officer, during the early stages of ScreenPoint Medical before joining Philips as a Senior AI Product Manager in 2023. He returned to ScreenPoint in 2025 to orchestrate and develop the company's roadmap as the premier vendor in breast imaging AI.
